Apple iPad Review
When Steve Jobs first announced the iPad, everybody were quite sceptical on if we really needed this, especially with the presence and success of Apple iPod and Macbook. The iPad is essentially a device between the iPod and Macbook. Apple iPad has a massive 9.7" multi touch display with a resolution of 1024 x 758 pixels, along with LED backlighting and a fingerprint and scratch resistant coating. As far as ports and slots are concerned, there is 3.5mm headphone jack and mic, a power/hold button, a screen lock that disables the accelerometer, and there is also the volume up and down toggle, in the bottom, you will find the speaker gill and 30-pin connector for charging and syncing. For sensors, you get Accelerometer, ambient light sensor and magnetometer. The processor is a 1 GHz Apple A4 system on a chip, and memory of 256MB DDR RAM built into Apple A4 package. The Apple iPad 1 is available in capacities of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. For connectivity, you get WiFi and 3G. The OS is very similar to the ipod touch or the iPhone OS, almost exactly the same. The iPad comes pre-loaded with some basic apps such as phone book, iPad, email, calendar, photos etc. But these basic apps are quite different from the ipods; These apps have been designed to take full advantage of the screen sizes. The built-in lithium ion battery gives you about 10 hours of video, 140 hours of audio and 1 month of standby. About 25 million units have been sold as of June 2011, that says a lot.
Apple iPad 2 Review
Steve Jobs unveiled the iPad 2 on 2nd March 2011. This latest iPad 2 is about 33% thinner than the original. Just like the original, the iPad 2 also comes in three capacities of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. For wireless connectivity, you get Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and 3G cellular HSDPA, 2G cellular EDGE on 3G models. The iPad's touchscreen display is a 1024 × 768 pixel, 19.1×14.8 cm liquid crystal display (diagonal 9.7 in (24.6 cm)), with fingerprint- and scratch-resistant glass. The iPad 2 has a better processor, 1 GHz (dynamically clocked) dual-core Apple A5 system on a chip, that is twice as fast as the predecessor when it comes the processor operations and about none times faster for GPU operations. Memory wise, iPad 2 features 512MB DDR2 RAM built in to the Apple A5 package. The highlight feature of the iPad 2 is that, it has front and rear cameras supporting the FaceTime video calling application, along with a three axis gyroscope. For GPS, Apple has included Accelerometer, ambient light sensor and magnetometer. The built-in lithium ion battery gives you about 10 hours of video, 140 hours of audio and 1 month of standby.
